A Snapshot of Democracy – photo contest

The World Youth Movement for Democracy has launched the second Global Photo Contest! The aim of the contest is to capture the ways in which democracy can be reflected in our daily lives, and create images that tell stories about how people see, and where people find, democracy.Young people, from 18 to 35 years old, from all around the world are invited to join the contest and send their photographs.

Following categories:
– Emerging Human Rights Defenders
– Democracy in My Life
– Challenges to Democracy

The photos of the 15 semi-finalists (five in each category) will be posted online for open voting on 13 June 2012 to determine the finalists.
The three finalists will be invited to participate in the Seventh Assembly of the World Movement for Democracy in October 2012, where their pictures will be showcased.

Deadline to submit pictures is 11 May 2012.
